At Mukuba, the lectures, tutorials, library facilities, assignments, teaching practice and self-study facilities are all aimed at ensuring that students get the best possible theoretical and practical learning experience.


The university has a host of clubs, societies and church groups to help you develop your interests, meet like-minded people, grow spiritually, or simply socialise.

There are various sports clubs at the university and Joining a sports club will give you the opportunity to train, compete and socialise with other members.

From football and athletics to volleyball and Netball, we offer a vast selection of sports clubs for you to choose from.

Our Sports Union is made up of more than 10 sports clubs, catering for all types of activity and ability level, from complete beginner to elite.

Our clubs offer weekly coaching and practice, with opportunities to compete and/or participate in sport on Thursdays and at weekends. Many of our sports clubs compete at national and international events.


We have high quality accommodation on campus and there are construction projects to further increase our bed space capacity. Our room and bed space allocation policy ensures that rooms and bed spaces are allocated in a transparent manner. Students not accommodated on campus have a wide choice of boarding houses near campus to choose from.

The university has “common rooms” where students can enjoy watching their favourite sports, movies, news channels and documentaries

Additionally, students have access to beautiful kitchenettes, where they can prepare meals. Alternatively, students can buy their meals from the restaurants on campus.

The university is also near a number of shopping malls in Kitwe, with the nearest being about 15 minutes’ drive from the university.


Your time at Mukuba isn’t just about academic work – it’s important that you have time out from your studies and get involved in social and governance issues.

MUKUSU represents the interests of all University students and provides a range of central services and support.

Led by six elected full-time student officers, MUKUSU:

  • represents the student body on University committees
  • runs the professionally staffed Advice Service
  • champions diversity and access group campaigns
